LE BAL/ADAGP AWARD FOR YOUNG CREATION #4

LE BAL, THE ADAGP AND THE MINISTRY OF CULTURE PROVIDE SOLID, LONG TERM SUPPORT FOR THE PRODUCTION OF CREATIVE WORK.
LE BAL, the ADAGP and the Ministry of Culture provide solid, long term support for the production of creative work. The three first laureates were: Clément Cogitore (1st edition), Yasmina Benabderrahmane (2nd edition) and Eric Minh Cuong Castaing (3rd edition).
This award is open to all photographers and/or videographers under 40 years of age, working or residing in France for at least one year. LE BAL will support the laureate in completing an already-initiated creative project over a two-year period. Priority will be given to projects falling under the broad spectrum of the documentary image, articulating political/social and aesthetic issues.
The laureate will receive a grant of 20,000 euros to complete their project. In autumn 2023, the two years will culminate in an exhibition of the laureate’s work at LE BAL and a publication.
The laureate will also benefit from a filmed portrait broadcast on the Arte website as well as a dedicated presentation on the on the walls of the ADAGP.
After a pre-selection of five to ten applications, the jury, composed of personalities from the world of visual arts, will meet on October 19, 2021 to select the laureate and the special mentions.
The laureate and special mentions chosen by the judging panel will have two days of masterclasses in 2022 where they will meet professionals and personalities from the world of visual arts (publishers, graphic designers, institute managers, critics, artists, collectors), in order to enrich and develop their creative project.
