37. Kassel Dokfest: Submit Now!
The Kassel Dokfest is dedicated to regional film production as well as international documentary work in all its variations. Current documentary and artistic experimental short and feature films will be screened, media installations will be presented in the exhibition Monitoring and VJ-Sets will be featured within the DokfestLounge. The Kassel Dokfest invites to discussions about film and art, will deal with issues of net culture and will offer hands-on events with the possibility to network for up-and-coming filmmakers.
The Kassel Dokfest considers itself as a festival with an international orientation and a
strong focus on new media and the promotion of talented filmmakers.
The organizers currently assume that the festival will take place in its regular form. Changes might result from the further course of the Corona pandemic.
The festival invites all filmmakers, artists, distributors, producers, gallerists, universities, and institutions to submit their most current works and projects to the 37th Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival.
The entire film program as well as the works for the exhibition Monitoring will be selected from all submissions. All installations of the exhibition Monitoring compete for the Golden
Cube. A jury nominates films from the program for the other festival awards. The festival does not charge an entry fee and pays – as far as possible – a screening fee for the films of the regular film program.
