Open Call: 39th Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival

Intro

CALL FOR ENTRIES

We now invite all filmmakers, artists, distributors, producers, gallerists, universities and institutions to submit their most current works and projects to the 39th Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival. The entire film program as well as the works for the exhibition Monitoring will be selected from all submissions. All installations of the exhibition Monitoring compete for the Golden Cube. A jury nominates films from the program for the other festival awards. We do not charge an entry fee and pay – as far as possible – a screening fee for the films of the regular film program.

This year, Kassel Dokfest is being planned as a hybrid form. Film programs and talks will be presented on-site from November 15 to 20 and online on our VoD-platform until November 27.

Online films will be geo-blocked and will be available with a limited number of accesses, for a limited time, and with copy protection. Filmmakers are free to decide against an online presentation.

DEADLINE

WHAT CAN BE SUBMITTED?

We are looking for current films and installation from the years 2021 and 2022. There is no limit in terms of the running time of the submitted work.

WHERE AND HOW CAN I SUBMIT A WORK?

Works have to be submitted with a streaming link unlimited in time which is also downloadable (do not use Wetransfer or Dropbox). Stills have to be uploaded online as well.
