Intro

Bas Princen will be holding a workshop at Camera Austria for IZK, TU Graz, students. The workshop deals with the (im) possibility of photographing nature in our day and age, and with its effect on the production and dissemination of images. In his lecture “Central Perspectives,” Princen will speak about his own work, specifically about a series of in-situ installations in which pictures define the landscapes and sites surrounding them.

Bas Princen is an artist and photographer living and working in Rotterdam (NL) and Zurich (CH). He was educated as industrial designer at the Design Academy Eindhoven (NL) and later studied architecture at the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam (NL). Since then, through the use of photography, his work explores how images define landscape and architecture, through books, exhibitions and large scale in Situ installations.
