Preface
Camera Austria has long shared an enduring and multifarious connection with the artist Karina Nimmerfall. It thus seemed natural to move our year-long content-related exchange on (photographic) images into the magazine format, and to invite her to serve as guest editor. Written from an autofictional perspective, the prologue by Karina Nimmerfall introduces the subjects of this issue, which we explore together under the title “After the Index,” examining how the relationship between photography and computer-generated imagery plays out and what potentials indwell this relationship.
