Intro

Two years have passed since the last magazine presentation in Berlin, so we are especially pleased to celebrate the publication of our September issue, Camera Austria International No. 155, with you at Kunstquartier Bethanien. On this occasion, during the afternoon and evening, we will be presenting artistic positions from the Forum section of the magazine.

Julia Debus will show works from the series VIA (2020), for which she photographed the passing landscapes exclusively from a moving train during a 12,000-kilometer journey through the autonomous region of Xinjiang in Western China.

In ELW: About the Vanished Life of Elfriede Lohse-Wächtler (2020), Elisa Goldammer provides insight into her multi-layered artistic practice of photographing, writing, and publishing. She condenses the loose traces of her research work into an impressive narrative.

Sina Link presents two works, I’m Yasmine, 16 and I’m Youssef, 6 Months (both 2021), in which she focuses on a photograph of an SOS Méditerranée rescue mission as the starting point for her exploration of human perception and the process of gaining knowledge
