Vienna Art Book Fair, happening for the first time this year, is an international festival for the promotion and dissemination of artists’ publications and editions and will assemble 150 publishers from 18 different countries. For three days, the Vienna Art Book Fair #1 will offer an extensive accompanying program that includes exhibitions, book presentations, artists’ talks, readings, panels, workshop visits, and performances.

Over this weekend, we will be present with the current issue of our magazine, Camera Austria International no. 147, as well as with some back issues and books that have recently been published in Edition Camera Austria. Furthermore, we are especially happy that the project “Re: Groups” which Regine Ehleiter has developed for Camera Austria International no. 147 will be presented in the form of an exhibition during these days. Tying into the (magazine) exhibition “Groups” initially realized by Lucy R. Lippard, Ehleiter has invited contemporary artists to photograph a group of people seven days in a row and to give very precise descriptions of the resulting images. The objective of this conceptual project was to highlight possible discrepancies between what can be shown and what can be said.

Together with Alwin Lay, one of the 13 participating artists, Ehleiter will give a guided tour through the exhibition “Re: Groups” on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at 3 pm in seminar room 25 (ground floor).
